Green Tara, the Swift Liberator, is the principal female manifestation of enlightenment. She is the embodiment of enlightened activity, the active principle of compassion who guides practitioners toward full awakening. Green Tara is capable of bringing to fruition all activities that bring benefit to others.
Through the methods of Tara Practice, it is possible to achieve temporal happiness and well-being, and ultimate awakening. Tara grants practitioners the widespread protection from the Eight Great Fears. On the outer level, these are fears of lions, elephants, fire, snakes, robbers, imprisonment, water and demons. On the inner level, these fears refer to pride, ignorance, anger, envy, wrong views, avarice, attachment and doubt.
Venerable Khenchen Rinpoche will grant the Green Tara Empowerment and Reading Transmission (Lung). Students are required to practice vegetarianism on the empowerment day.
